Looking for (paid!) guest artists.

Come September I’ll be moving, which conveniently aligns with the end of the current chapter on my webcomic, Eagle Ordinary. I’m looking for some guest artists to fill the empty space and give me time to recover and settle in.

The comic’s based on Warhammer 40k, and you’d be welcome to really do anything in that realm, though involving the current cast would be great. Also happy to let folks run with character backstories if they prefer. I’ve got em written up somewhere.

If you want to do more than one page, that’s totally cool and we can do a few updates throughout the week to spread them out. If you want to do black and white, also cool. We can include gifs, custom css schemes, I’m flexible.

For some analytics, we get a little over 14k unique viewers a month on the smack jeeves page. So I can give you the skeevy YOU’LL GET EXPOOSUUREEE while also actually, you know, giving you money. Because yay, rent!

Let me know if you’re interested! (And if you’re not, spreading the word would be appreciated!)

I've got two at the moment, may have enough cash to commission two more. I'll be choosin' who I'm going with tomorrow night.

(Commissions still on the way, btw!)

I got this from Oly-RRR

Everyone with OCs are welcome to participate.

RULES (please read)
1. For the first 7* people who comment on this journal, I will feature one of their characters I like the most and comment my choice. (I will go to your gallery and pick one character and one picture I like, you don't need to tell me which one)
2. If you comment, please do the same in your journal, and put me in the first feature slot. The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone! I feature you after you made the journal.

*I'll try to feature more than 7 people if more people comment and I have the time but I wanted to post the rules as they were originally.

Cop Story ch.2 - Tea or Sympathy by Oly-RRR  Cop Story 1-15 by Oly-RRR  Pool Party - One Trick Gavin by Oly-RRR
First off, I've always been a huge fan of Oly-RRR's work because it's incredibly unique both in content and application. Traditional work of this quantity must take an unreal amount of time, and she pulls it off with an insane amount of regularity and skill, and then rubs it in by matching that same level of skill in digital as well. Digital or traditional, Chauncey has always easily been one of my favorite characters of hers, if only because he seems like such an everyman who's just had the worst fucking time of it, and I'm always a sucker for those characters. He, like so many of her cast, is rendered with his own eccentricities and personality unapologetically right up on the surface, and I can't help but empathize with him.

A testament to this is a trip I recently took to DC where I could have sworn I walked right past him. It actually made me double-take. Same expression, hair, and posture. It says something when you can craft a character so relate-able as to be found in everyday life while still being memorable enough to pick out having only seen them little more than a handful of times.

A delightful acquaintance of mine known as :iconsarspax: has been having some rough bills recently from getting his kitty, Toby, into surgery to fix some toe-issues. Having been where he is with my own pet in the past I know how much of a scary and stressful process it can be, so since I've got a bit of spare time over the next couple days so I'm going to be taking a few commissions to help him get over the hump.

Since I've only got limited time, I'll be doing either shaded sketches (waist up) for $15 or a painted headshot for $25. An extra person is +$10/$15 respectively. Sketch refs are highly encouraged, nothing is off the table.

Style sample for both, sans shading.

I've got ten slots, but a painted piece will fill up two slots! All payments can be made straight to Sarspax on his paypal, korvusreedhowarth@gmail.com. Donations are encouraged as well! (please tell me if you do!)

I've not been feeling too well the last while, but one thing that's generally always picked me up is doing stuff for other folks.

Go ahead and drop a reference or description of your character here, whether they're your favorite inquisitor, oc, fursona, player character, your friend's character, I don't really mind. I'll pick some and do some sketches and whatnot tonight, I don't know how many I can do but I'll do my best.

edit: Thanks so much guys! I drew as many as I could (Up a bit late, eh, worth it.) Thanks for lending your OCs to keep me company, and I'm truly sorry I couldn't get around to everyone :(

I see all these adoptable things floating around, and it gives me fuzzy memories of the adoptables forum on GaiaOnline an lifetime ago.

However, as any poor souls who've come to watch me probably know - I don't really draw wolves or dragons or spirits or anything, I'm a bit more of a people person. I'm also a gamer. I'm curious over what people would think of adoptables that come with character sheets, for Dungeons and Dragons, FATE, Dark Heresy and more.

Buy em, play em, bring em to life, that sort of thing. That's something I could get behind as a buyer, how about you?

I've been drawing a bit of a comic recently, and I'd like to post it up somewhere consistently. I've the cash and ability to give it its own URL and page, but I'm wondering if that's the best option. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'd not logged in to DA in months due to hectic work schedules until the other day, I was poking in for my usual texture grab and I realized I'd popped in a year after the last comment made to my profile to the day, thought it was a funny coincidence and decided I'd have a log in.

Long story short I got a little nostalgic, and I've been painting more recently, so I might as well get into it again. I try to reply to most of my comments and inbox stuff, so if you've sent me anything I'll try and read it over in the next couple days, (but there's like... a lot of stuff in there, man.) I do want to make sure I read it all though.

So I'm a butt and got super excited about art trades, and then I realized I was going to be super busy until friday. I'm going to put my mouth where my money is and put up a ustream though so anyone can stop in and see what's going on. This should be on all of today, if not tomorrow and the next as well.

I'm still finishing up a couple commissions of my own, but some time soon I'd like to start collecting art of Kepler (fav.me/d52zwb1). If you're doing commissions, feel free to link me, or if you've got the hankering to do an art trade, please note me.

Also, I haven't done a kiriban in ages, but if someone catches my 99,999 or 100,000, I'd be glad to do you something!

I'm moving my commissions hub to DA so I can better keep track of all this commission business!

I've made the above handy-dandy guide to all the sorts of work I'm offering. A warning- my work is going to have me busy this week, (We're finishing the game I've been working on! I actually slept at my work last night |D) so I'm going to keep slots limited still.

Interest check? I was considering something like $15 for full body sketches, $10 for waist ups and painted things for $40 or so. My job keeps me pretty occupied and I haven't had a reason to branch out and draw other things for a while, but it also might have given me a bloated conception of how much my time is worth.

Edit: Considering trying a sculpey commission too. Though that's going to be tougher. Even little things take me upwards of 4 hours, so they would end up being around $100 just for a wee thing if it were painted. I don't know if anyone would really be interested in that.

I've been on the look out for the longest time, and each time I happen on something that looks really fun or something I'd want to get in on, it's either winding down or completely dead. :( I've been out of touch for years, and now that I'm graduated I could use an awesome community to roll around on and draw for.

I've been unable to find a directory on DA, forum rps seem hit and miss and I really don't want to do play-bys, getting into an IRC rp is sort of like getting into Fight Club, and so I've been leafing through DA rps link by link- but I encounter the above dilemma more often than not.

As for genres, I'm really open to most things. Diversity is nice, I like challenges. I'd love something biological horror, but I'm open to anything. Really my dream RP would be something similar to something I saw on gaia once- it was Island of Dr. Moreau style where OCs were being experimented on and released back onto an island, but the community was pretty hardcore drama'd early on and I never got to get in on it. I've had a few ideas of my own over the years but I don't think I would want to run a community at the moment.

Does anyone have any ideas/links/suggestions?

Hey everyone! This is Marr here, just giving an update on Torren's server status- for those of you who use things like the IRC she hosts and so on. Torren is currently in the process of moving and this means, unfortunately, server downtime is a-comin'. So this means that any services she runs will not be available for a short period of time. She has informed me that things should be back up around Thursday.

Sorry for the inconvenience guys!

From here on out you can find my new work on www.peachpunk.com, most actively the blog portion.

I'll keep my old stuff on here since I really appreciate all the lovely comments people have left over the years, but it's probably about time I moved on and limit my distractions.

If I ever find myself with an expanse of free time, I might draw some things for DA again.
